Isaiah's
Sarcastic Mockery of the Idol Maker "Half
of the wood he burns in the fire; over it he prepares his meal, he
roasts his meat and eats his fill. He also warms himself and says, Ah! I
am warm; I see the fire. From the rest he makes a god, his idol; he bows
down to it and worships. He prays to it and says, Save me; you are my
god." Isaiah

The
Parable of the Sower "He
taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said:
Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the
seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some
fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up
quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the
plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other
seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that
they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up,
grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred
times. Then Jesus said, He who has ears to hear, let him hear." Mark

What if
the Resurrection is Not True ? "For
if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still
in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are
lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be
pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from
the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." 1

Lesson in Prayer, from the Master "This,
then, is how you should pray:
'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'
